Testimonies

  1. I never thought what I was doing to myself was causing harm to those I loved. They never said anything nor did they act as if they knew, but after attending the Family in Recovery Group session, and had a chance to do the role play with my wife, I begin to see all that I was taken her through. I want her to know how sorry I am, and how much I love her for standing with me through all of this. Like I learned at the 2nd C.R.G session, I can't promise I will not miss up again, but I can promise I will do myself to stay straight and narrow, and be the man God has allowed you to marry. I love you and thank you...

  2. It was a pleasure meeting you at the conferences today. Speaking with you was a eye opener, and I want to thank you for helping me and my love ones out. I am also glad to find your website, I really like the 5 points of recovery you have up there. It really gave me a lot to think about. Can't wait to be able to start training to become an advocate for the 2nd Chance R.G and AFIRM Foundation. God Bless

  3. I tell you it is good to see a program that is about to step up and help those who are on the MMT program. Many don't understand the essences and information that is needed for other to truly know the progress and the method of Methadone. It is not a bad medicine, all medicines can be some what a addiction if you abuse it.
I am not here to debate, but I just want people to know that since attending the 2nd C.R.G support group, I am learning how to live a life worth living. LOL and I have learn how to value the importance of life and not worry about all the foolishness. I thank you for being a strong program, I am hoping to graduate with my Advocacy certification so I can be able to spread the truth about spirituality and recovery, and maybe open up a 2nd C.R.G support group in my sister town. God bless you all.

  4. You funny how I use to think that going to support groups was a waste of my time, because of all the judgemental attitudes and talk. But when I went to a 2nd Chance Recovery Group meeting, I was surprise how everyone was there to truly uplift you, encourage you, teach you and educate you on all different method of recovery.
I was able to see those who are a part of the MMT program set with those who are not and talk about ways that will improve your life style as a person in recovery. There was not judgemental attitudes. I have been attending the 2nd C.R.G meeting for a month now, and I have made the decision to get into the advocacy certification training program that they offer, for I want to be able to help others know the true about real recovery, and how spirituality can bring forth a level of recovery that is able to change yoru life from many different point of views.
So I say thank you 2nd C.R.G. for being a part of my life.

  5. I really don't know what to say at this point, but I know that since I been attending 2nd Chance RG, my life has been very different. They have given me a chance to stand firm in my recovery, help me understand my treatment, and allow me to have a strong voice in the process. I thank them for being supportive, for I had attend other programs, and they have made me feel small and unwanted because I am a client for Methadone Maintance Treatment Program. But 2nd Chance, they understand the unity between spirituality and medication, and it has been a strong purpose in my life. I am not going to school myself to become a Christian Counselor, I recommend this program to anyone who is truly serious about change and getting thier life back on track. God bless all the members of 2nd Chance. Brother L from Chicago IL.

Since working with the AFIRM Foundation, and being a strong resources for the 2nd Chance Recovery Group program, it is has been very effective and amazing to see all the changes that has come about in so many lives.
Here in Peoria, IL. We are truly happy to say and inform others of the changes that has taken place, the testimony of those who have become not only clean from their addiction, but are now moving into the actions of being Advocates for this program.
